Store Selector

The InSight Store Selector is the starting point for the InSight User Interface. Before you can retrieve Terminal and Controller Information you must first select a Store. The Store Selector allows you to configure, load, save, import, search and sort Store Selector files.

Getting Started with the Store Selector

Initially you will not have a Store Selector List and you will have to create one.

Managing Store Selector Files

If you already have a Store Selector file you can do the following:

Using the Find Store Servers function

You can find InSight-Enabled Stores on you local network with the Find Server function:

After you have found Stores with the Find Server function you can add these stores to you Store Selector List:

Searching and Sorting Large Store Selector List

If your lists are large and you need to find certain stores or want to organize your lists for easily finding Stores you can do the following:

List Entry Details

Store Selector List Entries contain information about that Store. This information includes editable fields such as Store Number, Description, Region, City / State, Banner, and Primary and Backup Hosts. And List entries contain fields that are filled when connecting to the Store itself and are not editable through the InSight User Interface. They include Node, IP Address, and Hostname for both InSight Primary and Backup Controllers. For more information on these details see the following:

Connecting to a Store

This brings us to the most important feature of the Store Selector List, being able to connect to a Store and open up the Store View. There are a few ways to do this. You can highlight the Store Entry and click Connect in the Tasks section or you can double click a Store Entry.

You can also bypass the Store Selector List altogether and go to the File menu in the InSight User Interface and select one of the Recent Stores listed there.

Similarly you can open any of the recently opened Store Selector Files as is noted in the following section:
