Establishing a Controller Agent Session

 

Before other functions may be used, the user must call IDA_OpenSessionto obtain a connection to the InSight controller agent. IDA_CloseSession shuts down the session. Multiple sessions can be established by the same application. Controller agents are specified using the hostname or IP address of the controller agent host. Since InSight is designed to provide a storewide view from any controller agent, controller agent’s hosts are typically given a primary or backup designation.

 

IDA_FindServers can be used to identify active controller agents in a network. IDA_FindServers uses IP multicast to find the list of active servers.
