Manager Key Soft Override

If not disallowed by store policy, a client application can send events to the terminal to virtually turn the manager key to the manager position and to turn it back to the normal position. Here are some additional details on how this mechanism works:

·          Software override of the physical manager key is only allowed when the physical key is in the normal position.

·          A soft override of the manager key from the normal position is internally cancelled upon the following events:

a.        Client session disconnect or timeout.

b.        Terminal goes physically offline from its controller.

c.        Terminal agent goes offline from the controller agent (because the controller agent is stopped or not operating properly).

d.        Physical manager key is turned.
