This article provides an overview of a proposed new feature that
allows for InSight ‘Filter Client’ applications. Filter Clients are
InSight Client applications that interact with POS terminals and
have the ability to:
o
Send print data to the POS printer
o
Write display data to the POS display
o
Have filter control of device data including keyboard, scanner,
display and printer. This includes the ability to discard data,
change it, or add to it.
o
Provides the ability to define “DataWatch” barcodes which can be
used to auto-enable filtering.
o
Provides the ability to define DataWatch keystrokes, print strings
or commands, and/or display strings that can be similarly used to
enable filter control mode and trigger the filter client.
o
Provides the ability to configure and identify DataWatch barcodes
and keystrokes that are
onlyto be seen by specific filter clients and are never
passed to the sales application.
