Controller Agent Database

The controller agent maintains its own data base file or files. The records in this file have 3 main purposes:

1.        Efficiency - maintain records so that 4690 databases (term config, etc) don’t have to be scanned every time the agent starts.

2.        User configuration storage - an example of this is the keyboard labeling info entered by users.

3.        History storage - storage of long-term history information including cpu use history, device i/o history, device use/adverse event history.

Records other than history storage are kept in memory as well as on the disk for fast client access. Updates to these records are periodically flushed to disk. History records may be kept in memory but are not necessarily kept there.
