The controller
agent maintains its own data base file or files. The records in
this file have 3 main purposes:
1.
Efficiency -
maintain records so that 4690 databases (term config, etc) don’t
have to be scanned every time the agent starts.
2.
User
configuration storage - an example of this is the keyboard labeling
info entered by users.
3.
History storage -
storage of long-term history information including cpu use history,
device i/o history, device use/adverse event history.
Records other
than history storage are kept in memory as well as on the disk for
fast client access. Updates to these records are periodically
flushed to disk. History records may be kept in memory but are not
necessarily kept there.
