The idea behind
the enable and disable options are to provide an easy way to take
InSight out of the picture if there is suspicion that InSight is
interfering with normal operations. Because several InSight
components are operating system extensions, there is expected to be
some customer nervousness about InSight when the system isn’t
working correctly. Because InSight is not critical to store
operations, it is reasonable to disable it completely to help when
isolating a problem source.
There are 4
InSight enable/disable options which can be run on the controller:
1.
“qsa_bin:insight
–enable”: enable controller driver and agent and terminal
driver/agent
2.
“qsa_bin:insight
–enablet”: enable terminal driver/agent at next terminal ipl
3.
“qsa_bin:insight
-disable”: disable controller driver and agent and terminal
driver/agent
4.
“qsa_bin:insight
-disablet”: disable terminal driver/agent but keep controller agent
active
